Endowment created for PCTs!

Dear Stakeholders,

We are excited to report that a donor is interested in creating a large endowment at GreenForest and is interested in collaborating with the CIPCT NMETH 526 students! They would like to see short project pitches < 10 min for development of an open-source PCT that supports positive health outcomes, hopefully with a primary or secondary prevention focus.

Key priorities:

  • A focus on public health impact, healthcare inequities, and population-level intervention efficacy.
  • Strong alignment with human-centered design methodologies (which differ substantively from user-centered paradigms) and a commitment.
  • Initial areas of interest include:
    • PCTs that address colon cancer (the donor saw a news report recently about how it is a top cause of cancer deaths for those under 50),
    • Tools that can help with the healthcare needs (consider anything and everything in Maslow’s hierarchy) for those that are undocumented in the USA (and/or displaced persons) abroad.
    • Medication adherence  – particularly for those with low digital literacy and low health literacy.

More ideas may be forthcoming, but interest areas will be around where there are issues of equity and where a PCT can have a real impact. Please consider this a preliminary communication, with additional context and tactical next steps to be disseminated by mid-April, 2025.

Best Regards,

Help needed with selecting project management software!

Things are changing fast at Green Forest and our project managers are in need of a standardized project management software package. We are hoping that some CIPCT students can help us conduct an environmental scan and select the ‘best of the best’. If you would like to help, please talk with you CIPCT instructor about how to get started. We look forward to hearing from you!
